Parra: Wilde Ouverture et Final
After the resounding success of Das geopferte Leben, premiered only just one year ago at the Biennale de Munich, Hèctor Parra has written a new opera, which was premiered at Schwetzinger Festspiele on 22nd May, with Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart des SWR, conducted by Peter Rundel, with staging by Calixto Bieito.
Parra chose to base his work on the theatrical work by Klaus Händl, Wilde oder der Mann mit den traurigen Augen, (Wilde, or the man with the sad eyes). At the composer’s request, Händl wrote an adaptation for the opera, entitled Wilde.
"Parra’s music is on a very high level." Opernwelt
The Orquesta Nacional de Espana, conducted by David Afkham, will perform the overture and finale from WILDE in Madrid on September 25, 2015.
