Patoussalafoi! is the title of Matteo Franceschini’s new work for the theatre. Written on a libretto by Philippe Dorin, it will be premiered on May 20 at the Opéra Théâtre de Saint-Étienne. Patoussalafoi! is a choral work for four voices - a kind of opera a cappella in which the singers perform duets, trios and quartets. The plot is a simple comedy: the protagonists all want to tell a story at the same time (an interesting set of intersecting voices and sounds), but in the general confusion the story never gets told. Patoussalafoi!, written for young audiences (age 3 and up), is a co-production of the Opéra Théâtre Saint-Étienne and the Centre dramatique national de Montluçon.
