Luca Francesconi's highly acclaimed new opera Quartett will have its French premiere at the Opéra de Lille on November 13, with additional performances on November 15 and 17. The production in Lille is the same as the original production presented at the Teatro alla Scala, with stage direction by Alex Ollé of La Fura dels Baus.

A world premiere for Francesconi's La scena che verrà is also coming up on November 25. It was written in memory of Gesualdo da Venosa for the occasion of the 400th anniversary of his death on September 8, 1613. The new work will be performed in Milan as part of the 2013 Festival Gesualdo.
