Alice au pays des merveilles (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland), Matteo Franceschini’s latest opera for 5 singers, boys’ choir, actors and orchestra, will be premiere on May 28 at the Philharmonie in Paris.

The Budapest Music Center will present a portrait concert of László Tihanyi and Balázs Horváth in May.

Percussionist Evelyn Glennie will perform the world premiere of Venus, composed for her by Francesco Antonioni, during a recital she will be giving at the Teatro Olimpico in Rome on May 5 as part of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana concert season.

On May 7 in Florence the Orchestra and Choir of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, conducted by John Axelrod, will perform the world premiere of Fabio Vacchi’s LO SPECCHIO MAGICO (Urban Art Dance Opera), libretto by Aldo Nove. The direction is entrusted to the video-maker Edoardo Zucchetti.

Choreographer Kader Belarbi has created a ballet based on Luigi Dallapiccola’s I Canti di prigionia called Mur Mur. It will be premiered on April 13 at the Eglise Saint-Pierre des Cuisines in Toulouse. The ballet ensemble consists of male dancers from the Ballet du Capitole, of which Kader Belarbi has been director since 2012.

On 4 March at the 2016 Biennale Musiques en scène in Lyon, the Orchestre National de Lyon will perform the world premiere of Daniele Ghisi’s Any Road. Written for orchestra, electronics and video, the work will be conducted by Olari Elts. The electronics have been realised by GRAME (Centre National de Création Musicale).
