Both versions of Eötvös's Da Capo performed in Budapest
Da capo, composed by Péter Eötvös in 2014 is based on Mozart’stunes and was written for cimbalom or marimba and chamber ensemble. The piece was performed for the first time in Budapest, and both of its versions were performed during the same week. The marimba version was performed on 11 October by Zoltán Rácz and a chamber ensemble created from the members of Concerto Budapest (conducted by András Keller), while the dulcimer version was played by Miklós Lukács and the THReNSeMBle on 18 October (conducted by Gregory Vajda). Both concerts were hosted by Budapest Music Center, the first one as part of Concerto Budapest's’Day of Listening’ and the second one as part of Café Budapest Festival.
