Axelrod conducts Boccadoro’s Orbis tertius

The world premiere of Carlo Boccadoro’s composition Orbis Tertius, commissioned by the Giuseppe Verdi Symphony Orchestra of Milan, will be performed on 12 November under the direction of John Axelrod.

"The piece", as the composer writes, "is made up of five brief movements, a formal tribute to the famous orchestral works of Webern (even if the language is very different). …I was attracted by the idea of writing some aphorisms each with its own distinctive expressive character… " The concert, which will be repeated on the 13 and 15 November, will take place in the Auditorium in Milan.
