Oscar Bianchi continues his collaboration with David Gloger, the countertenor from Ensemble Recherche, with a new piece for voice and an ensemble of nine musicians.
Joining with le Nouvel Ensemble Contemporain in La Chaux-de-Fond, the Uusinta ensemble in Helsinki and the Studio for New Music in Moscow, Bianchi chose to integrate the idea of physical movement into his instrumental writing, which provided a structure for his use of sound, thus creating a visual, and theatrical element for the piece.
Bianchi will present two versions of Partendo: the first solely instrumental, and the second with a dancer to demonstrate how movement interacts with his music, both visually and aurally.
In the interview video, Oscar Bianchi discusses how he wrote this piece, notably with its relationship to movement.
