Kurtág is composer-in-residence at Staatskapelle Dresden
On August 23, György Kurtág’s newest orchestra piece, Petite musique solennelle en hommage à Pierre Boulez 90, was premiered at the Lucerne Festival under the baton of Matthias Pintscher to great critical acclaim. Starting this month, Kurtág will be composer-in-residence at one of Europe’s most prestigious orchestras. In the 2015/16 season, the Staatskapelle Dresden will perform several of Kurtag’s ensemble and orchestra works in four different concerts. The performances will be conducted by Alan Gilbert, Gustavo Gimeno, Manfred Honeck and Alessandro De Marchi.
