The Associazione Lirica e Concertistica Italiana (AsLiCo) in Como has won the 2014 Fedora – Rolf Liebermann Opera Prize with Matteo Franceschini’s Milo, Maya e il giro del mondo (Milo and Maya around the world), a contemporary opera for children and young people on a libretto by Lisa Capaccioli. The awards ceremony took place on 6 January at the Palais Garnier in Paris.

Milo, Maya e il giro del mondo, inspired by the themes of EXPO and directed by Caroline Leboutte, was produced by AsLICo in collaboration with the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Liége (BE); Theater Magdeburg (GER); and the Opéra de Rouen – Haute Normandie (FRA). The opera will have its premiere on February 23 at the Teatro Sociale in Como.
